What We Do

Stratford Musical Theatre Company, formerly Stratford-upon-Avon Operatic Society, was formed in 1922 with an inaugural performance of The Mikado. We have performed musicals and concerts every year since then with the exception of a break from 1939 to 1945.

Recent performances include The King and I, Into the Woods, Les Misérables School Edition, Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Youth Production, and Made in Dagenham.

Our choir formed during the 1990s as members were being asked to perform at local events, since then we have performed regularly at various location in Stratford. The choir focusses on songs from musical theatre and is always open to new members.
