Stratford Musical Theatre Company
Established 1922
What we do.
Stratford Musical Theatre Company, formerly Stratford-upon-Avon Operatic Society, was formed in 1922 with an inaugural performance of The Mikado. We have performed musicals and concerts every year since then with the exception of a break from 1939 to 1945.
Recent performances include Made in Dagenham, Legally Blonde the Musical, Matilda the Musical Junior, Calendar Girls, We Will Rock You Young@Part, Annie, Footloose.
Our choir formed during the 1990s as members were being asked to perform at local events, since then we have performed regularly at various location in Stratford. The choir focusses on songs from musical theatre and is always open to new members.
We pride ourselves in striving to produce the most professional productions in musical theatre and ensuring we offer equal opportunities to participants. We are open to all audition standards.

SMTC presents The Great British Bake Off Musical
Ready… Set… BAKE!
Welcome to the most delicious musical in Stratford Upon Avon!
The Great British Bake Off Musical mixes friendship, flour, and a little bit of friendly competition into one unforgettable night at the theatre.
Inside the famous tent, a group of amateur bakers whisk, knead, and crumble under pressure as they compete to impress the judges through Signature Bakes, tricky Technicals, and jaw-dropping Showstoppers. But while cakes may sink and tempers may rise, the real recipe is about courage, community, and discovering what truly matters.
Packed with catchy songs, laugh-out-loud moments, and plenty of heart, this charming musical comedy is a treat for the whole family.
Come hungry for music, mayhem, and a little bit of magic.
